There were minor things, like always getting exactly 1 point less than my friendly rival on tests (even the .5's were one off--ie. 16.5 and 17.5) and the random people avoiding me like I've got swine flu, but this just about tops it all.
You know... when you've never won something before in your life and finally you win once. And it's first place. That is an amazing, spectacular feeling like you can't even believe.
Well I just came back from my school's first annual Art&Fashion Show. I won first place for my drawing in the Pen&Ink category!!
Except my drawing was done in watercolor pencils.
And they spelled my name wrong on the certificate.
IF YOU LOOK AT THE ACTUAL PICTURE UP ON THE WALL, MY NAME IS SPELLED RIGHT.
My name was spelled wrong on the diploma.
I thought they just misread it.
No.
It was spelled Eugina.
Teacher, teacher! ... WTF???
But no...
I still feel good. I won frickin' first place! And I didn't even know I was submitting my drawing into a competition...
So I'm gonna go wash my face now. God's loogies aren't necessarily the nicest things to bathe in, to tell you the truth. Who knew victory was so slimy?
