That's how my mom says Mandarin. I think that's what you'd call my Mandarin... Terrible mix of the two dialects.
I kept talking to my friend in Mandonese to my friend today and she tried really
really
really hard to shut me up. :)
I got all the words right; it's just the intonations were really off.
WHO CAN TRANSLATE....??
"Ni.... jin tien de...... LUNCH!.... yoe shummah.... dong shi chu ah?"

Not sure about "chu ah", but I'm guessing it means something like:
"Your LUNCH today has what things in it [chu ah]?"
Psst, pinyin works better, at least woith Mandarin.
@jenny: hm.. i think chu ah might mean to eat, even thought it's suppose to be chi... or is it qi?
what do you have to eat for lunch today?
that's what i'm guessin'
@Magu-
It's supposed to be "chi"(at least with pinyin), I think, although my family always pronounce it as "ci", as in 'needle' in a monotone.
Your explanation makes sense, though. Can I reguess? xD
Haha maggu got it. She's good.. Is it because she talks like that too??
I'm not putting it in pinyin because that's how I really said it. It'd be lying if I put it in pinyin b'cuz it would seem like I have perfect Mandarin. Besides, I don't know how pinyin works. :P
!! *is slgihtly insulted* but.. i can't really deny it, cuz that prolly IS the reason why i got it.
except i pronounce it better! *sniffs*
i'd prefer to think of it like my Chinese is sooo good, I can understand just about anything. :)
